One Thing This Week: Even Successful People Fail

“If you’re not moving forward, you’re falling behind.”

I believe this wholeheartedly—at work, at home, and in life in general! So One Thing This Week is where I share one thing—you guessed it!— that inspired me to move forward this week.

This week, my One Thing was the Girlboss Radio podcast interview with Sarah Robb O’Hagan, CEO, Flywheel Sports.

I personally haven’t taken a Flywheel class (yet), but the name sounded familiar as I was swiping through podcasts before a long drive. So, I hit play.

Best. Choice. Ever. Sarah’s story is SO inspiring. Prior to her current position as CEO of Flywheel, homegirl served as global president of Gatorade, and as global president of Equinox before that.

Her early career wins weren’t too shabby either—years at Virgin Atlantic Airways and Nike helped Sarah shape her career.

While Sarah’s successes are undeniably impressive, what stood out to me the most on this podcast was Sarah’s willingness to acknowledge her failures. She shared a story about being fired at age 26 and how it humbled her, quickly.

I myself was once was fired from a job, and it was SO reassuring to hear that a woman as smart and accomplished as Sarah was once in the same boat. I guess this means I have something in common with a totally badass CEO!

You can download the podcast using the Apple Podcasts app, or listen here. Let me know how you like it!
